Items and Upgrade Components in World of Warcraft
The ability to upgrade items is an excellent way to increase the value of your weapon and armor. However, upgrading magic and common gear is rarely worth the investment as rare or unique equipment can quickly surpass it.
An item can be upgraded up to six times. Each upgrade will add points to the gauge for the item's level.
Glyphs
Glyphs are the item upgrade materials that can be used to boost the attributes of an item. Glyphs can be used to upgrade weapons or armor. They can also be used to improve the quality of a ring, hat, necklace or other accessory. Glyphs can be found at a variety of levels and can be bought from vendors located in the city of Deneb. They are usually very expensive, but are worth the investment because they can increase the value of an item's stats.

Paper bags tissue boxes, cans of tin are generally recyclable. Glass food and beverage containers are generally accepted as well, but you should make sure that you wash them prior to putting them in the recycling bin.
The items that do not belong in your recycling bin include plastic grocery bags, batteries and wire hangers. These items can ignite at recycling facilities as well as tangle recycling equipment and trucks. Instead, you should take these items to a place where you can drop them off to recycle.
Suffix
Suffixes are a great upgrade components to improve weapons and armor. They can be salvaged by getting rid of them from items or purchased at a merchant by using a Salvage Kit. Upgrades are color-coded to indicate the types of items they can be applied to. The merchant can sell the identified upgrades for gold. Weapons can be upgraded by up to 2 prefixes as well as 1 suffix. Upgrades are only available to items with a rarity of blue or more and include items found in the end chests in Factions and Nightfall campaign. Upgrade components cannot be used for crafting new items.

Affixes to items can be used to give armor and weapons additional parameters. They could be a combination of one or more suffixes and/or prefixes, such as -Fiery that increases atk power by adding fire elemental damage. Affixes for items are available for the majority of items with a level 80, with the exception of crafting ascended armor and trinkets.
